The little village of Echevannes...

This was one of the hardest locations to find...it was not even on a map!  But once we got there, we were really surprised how beautiful it was.

Unheard of...
We were really off the beaten path!  Here Sarah dangles very close to the freezing waters that run off of the mountains in nearby Switzerland...yes, Switzerland!
We made sure that we enjoyed the local delicacies, including trout, wine and the cheeses...

We made it to Switzerland on a Sunday, so it was very quiet.  But we did get to see the coastline of Lake Nuechatel, which is a pretty large lake.  It also is fed by the run off from the glaciers.
I was also pleased to see a bit of the local faire...if you know what I mean...and yes I have pictures.

The Franche Comte is a very quiet area, not popular with the American tourists.  It is relatively popular with the northern Europeans.  While we stayed in Echevannes another couple who shared our Auberge was from the Netherlands.
